FAQs
How would you describe your style?
My style can be described as documentary and reportage, capturing natural and authentic moments of your day. The idea is to be as discrete as possible to capture the most candid photographs of you and your guests enjoying yourselves.
Are you insured?
Yes, fully insured for professional liability with a leading insurer for the photographic industry.
How many images will I get and what are my usage rights?
That depends on how big your wedding is and how many photographers you decide to have. In general, with one photographer over a full day, you can expect about 500 finished images. You are assigned full and unrestricted personal usage rights to print, share, distribute the images with your friends and family.
Do you offer engagement shoots?
Absolutely. Many couples look to add an engagement shoot to their wedding package. These usually last about an hour in a beautiful location. They’re great for us to meet before the wedding and break the ice.
Can you photoshop the images to change faces, people, or things?
Absolutely. As this is a tricky process to do well, the cost is £85 per image.
Colour or black and white
Both. You will receive a mix of images after your wedding. Which are colour and which are black and white depends on what looks best for those in question. You can request a separate full colour edit or full black and white edit, which will be an added cost.
How long have you been a photographer?
I got my first camera when I was 13 and I haven’t stopped taking pictures since. I have been shooting professionally since 2011.
Do you do any group shots?
Yes, but these are usually limited to three or so per wedding. The documentary style of wedding photography works best when people are at ease, unaware of the photographer; groups shots are opposite of that. That said, I do offer formal portraits, which are more special and unique memories of those in attendance.
How and when will you deliver the images?
Images are delivered through a private online gallery. You can then share the gallery with your family and friends and download any images from there.
The images may take up to 8 weeks in the peak wedding season, but often they are ready sooner.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I always carry a back-up and a back-up to my back-up. As the saying goes, two is one and one is none. That goes for cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards, and any lighting equipment.
Should I add a second photographer?
It all depends on how big your wedding is. If you have over 100 guests, or the wedding is spans a few locations, it would be worth budgeting for a second photographer to get the best coverage. It also allows us to capture multiple angles of important moments, like the ceremony.
Do you do couple portraits?
Yes. At the convenient time in the day, we can step away to a quiet spot for fifteen minutes or so to take some natural, documentary style couple portraits. Usually this occurs at the beginning of the drinks reception.
Can we meet you first?
Of course! We can meet as many times as necessary for you to feel assured.
Will you use a flash?
Only when it's absolutely necessary and wouldn't distract from the day. Most of the day I won't, but flash can work particularly on the dance-floor!
